HOW TO GET TO AND FROM TAICHUNG
By Air
There are direct flights going to and from Taichung through Ching Chuan Kang Airport or Qingquangang Airport.
By HSR
HSR is the fastest land arrangement to get to and from Taichung. From Taipei, it would take an hour or less. The HSR is operational from 5:00AM TO 11:30PM. Standard seats would cost 700TWD and non-reserved seats would cost 675TWD. Purchasing tickets in advance or during off-peak hours can give you up to 35% off.

By Bus
Taking the bus is the cheapest option, although it would take you 3 hours to get to Taichung from Taipei. Fare vary depending on the busy company. A Ubus from Taipei to Taichung costs NTD 260.

GETTING AROUND TAICHUNG
I highly suggest hiring a driver to maximize your day. It would be convenient and time-saving. We found Mr. Liu, a Taichung local who has a taxi company offering tours around Taichung.

This place is absolutely instagrammable! Zhongshe Flower Market feels like a paradise with a sea of flowers! We can't help but take couple pictures too! 😍

Feed on a healthy lunch in Bai Mushroom Restaurant where all dishes in their menu uses mushroom.
Xinshe Castle/Summit Resort
Xinshe Sastle is one of the ideal locations in Taichung to see the Cherry Blossoms.
Feng Chia Night Market
Feast your eyes on all they tempting food stalls, cheap clothes and souvenirs at Feng Chia Night Market.

Feng Chia Night Market is a mixture of souvenir, clothing and food market. There are a lot of choices to eat. Only a few food stalls have seats and tables, most of the people eat while they walk.
Miyahara Ice Cream

Aside from their ice cream and Hogwarts-like interiors, Miyahara is also famous for their pineapple cakes which costs 450-500TWD per box.

This itinerary is good for a side trip to Taichung coming from Taipei. We would start the itinerary at Taipei Main Station.

Although we made Taichung as a side trip from Taipei, we wished to have stayed longer. One day for Taichung is not enough to explore a city full of culture and beauty.
