In a few weeks, Raescape - A Travel and Lifestyle Blog, will be turning 1! It has been a busy week since I am planning for the blog anniversary. I was checking my inbox when we received an e-mail. We have been nominated by Pam and Katherine of Everywhere Forward for the Sunshine Blogger Award!
It is an honor to be nominated! I never thought I would be included in a blogger award this early!
WHAT IS THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD?
The Sunshine Blogger Award is a blogger-recognized award! It’s given to bloggers by their fellow bloggers. Bloggers that are nominated for the Sunshine Blogging Award are nominated for their ability to inspire positivity, creativity, and joy in the blogging community! Receiving this award really made my day! It is nice to see that my fellow bloggers recognize my effort and hard work since I am new to the blogging world.
Thanks again to Pam & Katherine from Everywhere Forward for nominating me! Make sure to check out and subscribe to their amazing blog for your weekly dose of travel tips and stories!
WHAT DO I DO IF I AM NOMINATED FOR THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD?
If you are nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award, you just need to follow these four rules.
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide them a link back to their blog on yours.
2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you! Lastly, nominate 11 new bloggers and come up with a list of 11 questions for them to answer on their own blog!
3. Display the rules and the Sunshine Blogger Award Logo on your website.
What destination is at the top of your bucket list right now?
My top priority is New Zealand, I think it is one of the underrated places to visit. Western and European countries are common on others' bucket list. I want mine to be a little different. Also, I think it's a perfect place to relax and slow it down--most of my travels are fast-paced, I was hoping to travel not just to visit the places, but to travel 'loosely.'
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from your travels?
That I am blessed with the ability to travel and I should never take it for granted. It also helped me to find my purpose-- to travel not only for myself, but try to help others as well. I want to give back for all the blessings I received.
Are you a full-time blogger? If, so what advice do you have for other full-time bloggers? If not, how do you balance work-blogger life?
I am a seasonal blogger, but I try my best to blog almost every week. I work as an architect. Once I finish my daily tasks, that is when I insert the promotions, curating the feed, editing travel videos and blogging. It can be hectic sometimes and I don't have the time to even open my website. I seldom blog when I travel, I spend most of the time outside rather than blogging what I did that day.
Are you a traveling foodie, museum-lover, photographer, family travelers, or sight-seer? Or none of the above?!
I am a photographer and sightseer. I try to cover as much sights as I could. Since I just started traveling, I want to explore different places first before returning back to a particular province or country.
What inspired you to become a travel blogger?
The thrill of travel. I was still in college when I started the blog. It started as an online diary and sharing opinions on my travels. I was shy whenever people read my blog. Eventually, my love for travel grew even more. So I started doing low-key promotions. And eventually, I manned up and went full on!
Share your favorite travel photo and tell us why!
This was in a local mountain 2 hours away from my city. I love everything about it-- the sea of the clouds, the person I am holding hands with, the scenery, the colors and lighting! I love this picture so much it's the sidebar photo in my blog!
Have you been to a destination that disappointed you? Why did it disappoint?
I don't have a concrete answer for this one. I can't remember one. Maybe I was disappointed by the surroundings, the food, the ambiance, but not fully disappointed in a destination.
Where is your favorite place to travel?
I love the mountains. I feel all sorts of emotions there. I feel exhausted because of the hike, I feel proud and satisfied when I reach the peak, my heart and mind are calm as ever, giving me the opportunity to think (no one talks since all of us are catching our breath), and I feel refreshed since I am in nature.
Where are you traveling next?
I recently booked a flight to Taiwan, but I want to visit a local province in the Philippines first. I am eyeing Mindoro or Iloilo this February! I need to visit a Philippine beach first!
What is your favorite part about traveling?
Generally speaking, I love the travel itself-- I love the feeling being in the airport, or an out of town bus transit terminal, or a port. I love the thought of being out of town and off to somewhere fresh to my eyes.
Where was the first place you ever traveled to?
My father's home town, San Narciso, Zambales. It is 4 hours from the city and I think it's one of the places I will keep coming back to, not just because of my father, but because of the chill life. I just love the beach and the simple life there.
