ESCAPE TO LAGUNA: TWO WATERFALLS IN A DAY
Country: Philippines
Taytay Falls Coordinates: 14.0980° N, 121.5043° E
Bukal Falls Jump-off Location: Barangay Bukal, Majayjay, Laguna
Bukal Falls Coordinates: 14.1052° N, 121.4762° E
Taytay Falls and Bukal Falls are two different falls situated not far from each other. We decided to visit them both in a day trip. Both waterfalls are majestic and refreshing to visit. Although, both can be quite crowded when visited on a holiday and on weekends.
Taytay Falls is also called Imelda Falls since the former First Lady Imelda Marcos funded the tourism of this falls. Its development led a safe and concreted path heading to the falls. You don't need to wear hiking shoes going to the falls.
The latter falls got a dispute with its name due to its location. Locals of Majayjay call it Bucal falls while locals of Liliw calls it Kilangin Falls. Unlike Taytay Falls, getting here requires hiking for 40 minutes to an hours passing by streams.

My husband and I have a joke about hikes that are "just a short trip to a waterfall." whenever we've gone on one while traveling, it always ends up being far more challenging than we envisioned. We still go, because honestly there is nothing prettier than a hike to a waterfall, and the challenge is worth it
